City College Plymouth staff are very committed to the success of the College and its students. Staff are regularly entered for awards to celebrate their dedication in their choosen field.

Project Search Team

Project Search, a collaborative partnership between the College, Pluss, Derriford Hospital and Serco, have been given the Star Award for Valuing Diversity.

The Award scheme is organised by Derriford Hospital to celebrate outstanding effort and good practice. Project Search was nominated by past graduates, staff from Job Centre Plus and Project Search UK in recognition of the work they have done to integrate young people with learning disabilities into the working environment.

Work-based Learning Lead Training Officer

Jade was ‘Highly Commended’ for the City & Guilds Medal for Excellence, for the development of Prince’s Trust qualifications and for implementing extensive quality control procedures for all of our qualifications. The City & Guilds external verifier described Jade’s procedures as ‘an excellent example of good practice’.

Debra Jory

Work-based Learning Training Officer

Debra has been recognised for her contribution to developing an innovative, exciting and challenging curriculum for hard to reach students, and has been awarded a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence. Debra has worked closely with students, staff and awarding bodies to develop established qualifications and make the programmes more accessible to students. As well as this, Debra has ensured that all three strands of the pre-employment curriculum are covered and that advice and guidance is at the centre of all the delivery.

Julie McLean

Julie won the Corporate Citizen title at The Herald’s business awards on Thursday 14 April 2011. Julie said: “I was absolutely speechless as I really didn’t think I’d get it! It’s an absolute honour to be recognised for doing something that I truly love, especially in my home town of Plymouth. What makes it even more special, is the fact that the actual award was made by City College Plymouth students!”
