City College Plymouth staff are very committed to the success of the College and its students. Staff are regularly entered for awards to celebrate their dedication in their choosen field.
Julie McLean, Director of Work-based Learning and
School Partnerships, was awarded an MBE in the
New Year's honours list for services to education.
Julie said: "It's an absolute honour to be
recognised for doing something that I truly love.
It has been a lot of hard work over the years but
for me, seeing the positive impact on our young people makes it all worth it."
Music lecturer, Colin Seddon, celebrated after being announced as a Silver Teaching Award Winner in the category, The Award for FE Lecturer of the Year.
The Pearson Teaching Awards are an annual celebration of exceptional teachers and teaching, founded in 1999 by Lord Puttnam, they recognise the life-changing impact of an inspirational teacher on the lives of the young people they teach.
