A good diet is central to overall good health. Our course will help you to understand the links between diet and health, whether you work in a fast food restaurant or are serving up a roast at home to your family, so you can help your customer or your family choose healthier food options. Our course is especially applicable to those involved in the selection of ingredients, preparation of recipes and menus for those who need, or demand, special diets.

Progression 

On completion candidates may use the qualification as a stand alone qualification to enhance employment prospects or as a progress route to higher level qualifications within this area.

College Celebrates Students’ Success

Staff and students at City College Plymouth are celebrating today after the City’s league tables showed that the College was ranked fourth* out of the fifteen non-selective schools and colleges in the City. The College’s average points score per exam entry is 208.7.

College sets-up exam results helpline

Exam results time is never easy, which is why City College Plymouth has set-up a helpline for people who didn’t receive the grades they wanted or are still unsure of what they want to do.

Impartial advice and guidance will be available from the College’s Student Services team on 01752 305803 from 8.30am to 5.00pm on weekdays.

Eddie Beech, Careers Co-ordinator at City College Plymouth commented: “The main message for anyone who didn’t receive the results they were hoping for is not to panic as help is at hand.

Catering Students Cook up a Feast of Medals

Students at City College Plymouth have been celebrating their recent medal success at the Major International Culinary Challenge – winning three gold, eight silver and eight bronze medals and four certificates of merit.

The Major Culinary Challenge and Mini Series of Display Classes are organised each year by Major International in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs and are open to chefs of varying skill level from any type of foodservice operation.

Cocktail course can mix it with the best of them

City College Plymouth and Plymouth Gin have been awarded the Professional Association for Catering Education (PACE) Innovation with Industry Award, for their Professional Bartending (Cocktails) course – the UK’s first bartending qualification.

The City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Professional Bartending has been written by City College Plymouth in conjunction with Plymouth Gin and bar consultant Sebastian Hamilton-Mudge.
