What's it all about? 

This course is ideal as part of your Continuing Professional Development and is intended for qualified electricians, plumbers and mechanical engineers who want to broaden their skills to install and maintain environmental technology systems or the knowledge to give great advice to property owners.

This qualification is designed for grid connected systems that are within the scope of Engineering Recommendation G83/1 with an electrical output of up to 5 kilowatt peak connected to both single and three-phase installations.

Progression 

This course enhances prospects in the field of environmental technologies and is one of the qualifications offered at the College in this type of award.

Entry Requirements 

You should hold a recognised level 3 electrical installation qualification and be certified to the current Edition of IEE regulations.

Installation of Solar Thermal Systems

This course is ideal as part of your Continuing Professional Development and is intended for qualified electricians, plumbers and mechanical engineers who want to broaden their skills to install and maintain environmental technology systems or the knowledge to give great advice to property owners.

This qualification is designed to cover systems with up to 20m2 of solar collector area for domestic hot water production.

This course enhances prospects in the field of environmental technologies and is one of the qualifications offered at the College in this type of award. 

Entry Requirements 

You should hold a recognised level 2/3 plumbing and/or heating and ventilating qualifications and be certified to current regulations. Unvented Hot Water Systems and Water Regs are also required, if not included in these qualifications.

Installation of Heat Pump Systems

What's it all about? 

This course is ideal as part of your Continuing Professional Development and is intended for qualified electricians, plumbers and mechanical engineers who want to broaden their skills to install and maintain environmental technology systems or the knowledge to give great advice to property owners.

This qualification is designed to cover ground, air and water heat pumps and the unit will focus on systems up to 45kW.

This course enhances prospects in the field of environmental technologies and is one of the qualifications offered at the College.

Entry Requirements 

You should hold recognised level 2/3 plumbing and/or heating and ventilating qualifications and be certified to current regulations. Unvented Hot Water Systems and Water Regs are also required, if not included in these qualifications.

  • Plan and prepare for the installation of heat pumps (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • Install air and ground source heat pump units (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • Test and commission a ground source heat pump installation (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • Test and commission an air source heat pump installation (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • Hand over an air or ground source heat pump installation.

Tuesday to Thursday, 9.00am - 5.30pm

Staff and students at City College Plymouth are celebrating today after the City’s league tables showed that the College was ranked fourth* out of the fifteen non-selective schools and colleges in the City. The College’s average points score per exam entry is 208.7.

College sets-up exam results helpline

Exam results time is never easy, which is why City College Plymouth has set-up a helpline for people who didn’t receive the grades they wanted or are still unsure of what they want to do.

Impartial advice and guidance will be available from the College’s Student Services team on 01752 305803 from 8.30am to 5.00pm on weekdays.
