Tuition Fees

2011/12:

Fees for a full-time foundation degree at the College in 2011/12 will be £2,490 per year - compared to many universities who charge £3,375.

Additionally, as a full-time student you may be eligible to receive a College bursary of £500 if in receipt of the maximum Maintenance Grant (subject to conditions) - this money does not have to be paid back.

If you continue your studies with a top-up to an Honours Degree, full time and without a break, you will be eligible for the current student support and tuition fee arrangements for your top-up course.

2012/13:

Fees for a full-time foundation degree at the College in 2012/13 will be £5,950 per year - compared to many universities who will be charging £9,000.

If you are currently studying a level 3 course or apprenticeship at City College Plymouth and a Plymouth resident you may be eligible for a National Scholarships, worth £3,000.

Student Loans

If you are an eligible student doing a full-time higher education course, you can take out a student loan.

There are two types of loan available - you can take out either or both:

  • a student loan to cover your tuition fees -called the 'Student Loan for Tuition Fees'
  • a student loan to help with your accommodation and other living costs -called the 'Student Loan for Maintenance'

Please note that for full-time foundation degrees starting in 2011/12 you must apply for a tuition fee loan of £2,490, and for full-time foundation degrees starting in 2012/12 you must apply for a tuition fee of £5,950.
