What's it all about? 

The Advice and Guidance Certificate Level 3 is designed to reflect the activities and responsibilities of those who are practitioners and work directly with clients disseminating information, advice and some level of guidance. Candidates will be working with information that is often interpreted by others, usually working within some clear guidelines.

Progression 

On successful completion you will have the opportunity to progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance at the College.

Entry Requirements 

Although no previous formal qualifications are required to embark on this qualilfication, you will need to demonstrate that:

  • your work includes clear guidelines in the practice of advice and guidance
  • you are working in designated advice and/or guidance organisations
  • your role is to provide information that is often interpreted by others.

One year

Yes

Are there any exams? 

You will need to collect a variety of evidence such as statements, observations and testimonies to build a portfolio. All of this will be under the guidance of an assessor. Once the criteria for each unit has been met the unit will be signed off as competent.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

To achieve a full Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance you must achieve 21 credits made up of four mandatory units and three optional units.

AG1 Establish communication with clients for advice and guidance

AG2 Support clients to make use of advice and guidance service

AG15 Review own contribution to the service

AG30 Understand importance of legislation and procedures

Optional units

A choice of 15 specific units which are tailored to the advice and guidance responsibilities.
