What's it all about? 

The course aims to teach the advanced techniques of barbering to hairdressers who wish to extend their 'gents' cutting skills and to achieve a recognised advanced qualification.

Progression 

By updating/learning new skills, completion of this course may assist and improve career prospects.

You can progress to the VRQ/NVQ Level 3 hairdressing in womens' or mens' hairdressing.

Entry Requirements 

You should be practising hairdressers and have gained a level 2 hairdressing qualification.

Duration 

Nine weeks

Are there any exams? 

You will be continually assessed in both practical and theoretical work. Online external testing is required. 

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

This course includes the following units:

  • cutting men's hair
  • cutting facial hair
  • colour and lighten hair
  • styling men's hair.

When can I study? 

Mondays 5.30pm - 9.00pm and one full day, 9.30am - 4.00pm on 24/10/11

£200. There is no discount on this course if you receive benefits. Please note that fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2011 / 12 (August 2011 - July 2012). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2012 / 13.

Instalments are available for course fees. A deposit of £50.00 is payable before enrolment followed by three monthly payments of £50.00 per year

If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course (Please note: this does not apply to foundation degrees or access to higher education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding).
