Level

Level Two

What's it all about?

You may already have the basic practical beauty therapy skills and knowledge and now want to develop your working knowledge to progress to the next stage, or maybe you're looking to start your career in the beauty industry.

You'll learn more detail and get more practice in providing facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, make-up and eye treatments and we'll introduce you to the anatomy and physiology related to each treatment. We'll also teach you more about health and safety in the workplace, employment skills and reception.

The first qualification, the certificate, must be achieved before progression onto the diploma. Excellent attendance and a positive attitude are essential to ensure progression.

You will need good communication skills - you and your fellow students will practice the above treatments (even bikini waxing) on each other before you begin working on clients! In order for you to practice and perform these treatments you will need to purchase a uniform, kit of equipment and products. This will cost approximately £500 and is a mandatory requirement. Full details will be provided at interview.

On successful completion you may continue yourstudies and work towards a level 3 qualification in body and spa therapy or nail technology at the College. You can also work in beauty salons, nail studios etc. Alternative career opportunities exist in wholesale, retail and marketing.
