With our work-based learning course under your belt, you'll now be able to take the next step in the suite of formal qualifications that will recognise your professionalism as you move up through your career.

NVQs enhance job prospects and career opportunities in the field of administration. You may be able to progress onto a foundation degree at the College.

Entry Requirements 

You will need to:

  • be employed in an administrative environment and occupy a team leader or supervisory role or possess a high degree of autonomy and personal responsibility
  • have support from your line manager
  • have the opportunity to collect evidence in work and undertake workplace observations

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

These courses are designed for those working as administrators to substantiate their office skills. To achieve an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration, you must complete a minimum of 40 credits, of which at least 13 credits must be achieved from mandatory units.

301 Manage own performance in a business environment

302 Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment

303 Work in a business environment

309 Communicate in a business environment

Optional units

A choice of 93 specific units which are tailored to the business and administration environment, such as, supervising an office facility, managing and evaluating customer relations, monitoring information systems, running projects, planning, organising and supporting meetings, making presentations, using various software, planning and implementing innovation and change, providing leadership, preparing text from a variety of sources.
