What's it all about? 

This qualification aims to develop the knowledge and understanding of fire risk/fire risk controls and the main legislation in the UK for the management of fire safety in the workplace both in principles and practice of fire safety. It will include the role of fire warden on a day-to-day basis or during an emergency.

Progression 

Progression to other qualifications in fire safety may be possible provided that all the necessary entry requirements are met.

Are there any exams? 

There are no exams, however there is ongoing assessment throughout the day.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

The course covers fire hazards and control measures, the procedures for fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections. Also some guidance on the use of fire safety equipment and how to implement emergency procedures, including safe evacuation of people in the workplace.

When can I study? 

Various days, 9.00am - 4.00pm
