This course is a ten-week introduction to the world of video games development. It is an excellent taster or foundation for anyone interested in the Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary/Extended Diploma Games Development.

During the course you will use the tools that professionals use - Unity 3D. Unity 3D software offers all you need to create great games and detailed 3D simulations. Harness the power of the intuitive interface as you create your own levels and import custom game assets. You will learn what makes a game exciting, and the strategies behind compelling game play as you create your own levels.

Progression

On successful completion of this course you may be able to progress on to the full-time Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary/Extended Diploma in Games Development at the College.

Entry Requirements

The only entry requirements for this course are a willingness to learn and an interest in the development of computer games.

Business Benefits

If your business would benefit from using graphical imaging for presenting planned or proposed ideas (such as 3D walkthroughs or site plan representations), this course can give your staff the basic understanding and knowledge needed to create those items. Students will leave this course with the ability to produce engaging and exciting representations, walkthroughs and more.

Perhaps you are you a teacher or lecturer who would like to make your delivery more interesting and engaging? This course will give you the basic skills to use gaming and modelling within your own subject area, which will add the 'wow factor' to your teaching.
