What's it all about? 

Our Hairdressing Advanced Apprenticeship course for those who have completed a level 2 course and are looking to build upon the skills already gained. With this course there are many opportunities to take part in enrichment activities such as a visit to Salon International in London, a trip to Europe or even America to the Wella Studios, photographic shoots, supporting fashion shows and much, much more!

Progression 

On successful completion you may progress to the Management Practice and Advanced Techniques in the Hair and Beauty Sector Diploma at the College, or a wide range of careers in the hair and beauty industry.

Entry Requirements 

Usually, progression is from a level 2 qualification in hairdressing, or on completion of an Apprenticeship programme.

An initial assessment is required to identify your entry level.

Duration 

One year

Are there any exams? 

Direct observation of performance, written assignments, unit test papers and online external tests.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Hairdressing - ten units, of which four are mandatory.

For example:

  • consultation services
  • monitoring health and safety in the salon
  • creative cutting and styling
  • complex hair colouring 
  • colour correction
  • creatively dressing long hair

 

Key skills - Application of Number level 2 and communication level 2 are also studied.

When can I study? 

Mondays, 9.00am - 5.00pm or negotiated attendance
