What's it all about? 

This diploma is the qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals, building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH National General Certificate. It is designed to provide the underpinning knowledge for a professional career in health and safety and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study. It is suitable for newly appointed health and safety practitioners and those with substantial experience - it equips holders to advise on effective management of risk across a range of employment sectors.

Progression 

The NEBOSH National Diploma is recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) - as fulfilling the academic requirements for Charted Membership (CMIOSH) conferring the official title of Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner. It is also accepted by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) as meeting their requirements for full membership.

Entry Requirements 

In our experience in order to be successful on this level of programme you will need one of the following:

  • 60-120 UCAS tariff points - any combination
  • a BTEC national award in a related subject
  • an NVQ level 3 in a related subject
  • equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

Duration 

One year

Business Benefits 

This course will provide the underpinning knowledge to safety professionals wanting to take their safety qualification to the next level, which can lead to full chartered status of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health. This course is aimed at safety managers and officers.

Are there any exams? 

Assessment is by three written examinations, one per unit, and one assignment. All assessment is externally set and marked by NEBOSH.

The course includes the following modules:

  • managing health and safety
  • hazardous agents in the workplace
  • work equipment.

Thursdays, 9.00am - 4.30pm
