What's it all about? 

This programme is aimed at those already working in and developing their role within a supervisory or managment team in the hospitality industry or licensed trade.

You will need to demonstrate leadership of your team, productive working relationships with colleagues, contribute to the control of resources, maintain health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment and lead your team to improve customer service. You will choose appropriate units depending on your job role.

Progression 

Successful students may progress to the Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management.

Entry Requirements 

You must be working at a supervisory level carrying out rotas, team briefings, health and safety checks / risk assessments and stock ordering.

Duration 

Up to one year

Are there any exams? 

Assessment is carried out through a combination of work-based observation, examination of evidence, witness testimony, candidate statements and responses to questions.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

You will be assessed in the workplace as you encourage and motivate others to carry out every day tasks in any of the following areas: food production, functions and events, food service, drink service, housekeeping, portering and concierge service, reception or reservations and bookings.
