What's it all about?

Infections can cause distress, serious illness and disruption within any workplace. This course is about recognising the causes and prevention of infection and in maintaining good practice to ensure risks of infections are minimised.

It is suitable for housekeepers, domestics, cleaners, janitors, waiting staff, orderlies, porters and individuals in their own home settings enabling them to reduce the risk of contamination in their individual work settings.

Progression

On successful completion you may use the qualification as a stand alone qualification to enhance employment prospects, or as a progression route to higher level qualifications within this area.

Half day (three hours)

Course Content

What does the course involve?

Preventing and controlling infection is of significant importance, and housekeeping staff play a vital role in this within their individual work areas. This course will cover the roles that people play within their work areas and how to control and prevent infections.

When can I study?

Various half days - 9.00am to 12.00 noon or 1.00pm to 4.00pm
