What's it all about? 

Jumpstart is a programme to support young people in their final year/years of compulsory education. The programme aims to help you feel good about your education so that you can fulfil your learning
potential, now and in the future. As well as improving your maths, English and IT skills you will have the opportunity to try vocational subjects such as hairdressing, beauty therapy, woodwork, painting and decorating, business studies and automotive.

What can Jumpstart offer me?

• Talks and visits from/to local employers.
• City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award.
• Short courses including first aid and health and safety.

Entry Requirements 

There are no specific entry requirements, however you must be referred by your school and show a willingness to engage and a genuine interest in the course that will enable you to progress into employment or further education.

Initial and diagnostic assessment.

What does the course involve? 

Individually tailoured training covering literacy and numeracy assistance, vocational training and personal development.

When can I study? 

Five hours per day, five days per week (flexible hours)

Please note that fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2011 / 12 (August 2011 - July 2012). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2012 / 13.
