Our course will allay your fears by teaching you the basic skills and knowledge to build your confidence to feel assured in your new position. Through a thorough grounding in the principles of managerial excellence you will cover the fundamental subjects that you will need to work successfully with your most important and most complex resource - people.

Entry Requirements 

This qualification has been developed to give an introduction to each of the stages of management. It provides a stepping stone to the full Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management. There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

The following topics are studied:

  • developing yourself
  • the importance of customer focus
  • gathering and communicating information
  • setting objectives, planning and monitoring
  • working effectively with others
  • basic concepts of quality, continuous improvement and change.

One day per week for five weeks, 9.00am - 4.30pm

If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course (Please note: this does not apply to foundation degrees or access to higher education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding).

Please note that fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2011 / 12 (August 2011 - July 2012). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2012 / 13.
