What's it all about? 

This work-based learning course is intended for managers who are responsible for the control of activities and work ouput of other managers. The course is designed for middle to senior managers, and will support your strategic management and leadership skills, personal development, managing resources, information, performance, customer and market awareness. The achievement of the diploma will demonstrate your competence in management at a strategic level.

Progression 

Upon successful completion you may have the opportunity to progress onto an MBA or other degree level management programme.

Entry Requirements 

Although no previous formal qualifications are required to embark on this qualification, you will need to demonstrate substantial senior strategic management experience.

Are there any exams? 

You will be assessed through performance in the workplace. This will include a variety of evidence; performance observations, product evidence, witness testimonies and discussion.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

You will build a portfolio of evidence and to achieve the full award will be required to complete three mandatory units (27 credits) and a further 18 credits which can be drawn from a range of 40 optional units.

The mandatory units incolude the following subject areas:

  • develop a strategic business plan
  • develop strategic direction and leadership
  • lead change in an organisation.
