What's it all about?

This therapeutic course is designed for students with complex needs. It focuses on sensory engagement, communication through alternative methods, and developing meaningful routines.

Students are supported by experienced staff to build trust, express preferences, and participate in structured activities that promote emotional regulation and interaction. Activities are highly personalised and may include music, movement, sensory learning, and learning in the community.

The aim is to build a secure base for self-awareness, emotional expression, and engagement with others.

Course information

The course includes:

  • independent living skills 
  • social communication 
  • English and maths 
  • personal development 
  • The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Places for this course are allocated by the Plymouth local authorities and cannot be applied for through the website.

The course is assessed via coursework and completion of a workbook.

Upon successful completion, students may progress to the next level of Pathways for Progression courses or follow a bespoke transition route.

Please note fees are quoted for one year only.
