What's it all about? 

Do you want to improve your hairdressing skills? Are you interested in working with different hair types and textures? Our friendly and helpful tutors and well equipped salon will help you to gain the skills you need to give you the confidence in working with Afro Caribbean hair.

Progression 

You may progress to other hair and beauty courses at the College.

Entry Requirements 

Preferably, you will need to hold an NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, or equivalent.

Duration 

Ten weeks

Business Benefits 

This course will enable you to offer more services to Afro Caribbean clients with a six to eight week service of return custom to the salon.

There are no exams or formal assessments.

Course Content

What does the course involve? 

This course gives an insight into relaxing Afro Caribbean hair. You will learn to use in-depth consultation skills and hair analysis and learn how to work with and understand different hair structures. You will cover application techniques for relaxing hair and timings, and build confidence in working with Afro Caribbean hair types. 

When can I study? 

Monday evenings, 5.30pm - 9.00pm
