What's it all about? 

As a qualified electrician you need to ensure that work you do complies with the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations incorporating Amendment No 1. On our intensive three-day course, you will get a sound and thorough practical grounding in all aspects of the regulations focusing on installation design, inspection, testing and supervision. You will emerge confident that when you plan, erect, protect, test and inspect yours, or anyone else's, work that it complies.

Progression 

You can progress to higher level qualifications at the College.

Entry Requirements 

In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need to have relevant electrical qualifications or relevant work experience.

This course is also suitable for others who may require a basic working knowledge of BS 7671:2008.

It is essential that course delegates bring with them a copy of Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2008 Incorporating Amendment no 1:2011 (ISBN 978-1849-19-269-9)

Are there any exams? 

You will be required to sit a City & Guilds multiple choice online examination on a separate date.

  • systems of supply and their characteristics
  • protection for safety
  • isolation and switching
  • selection and erection of electrical equipment
  • inspection and test requirement
  • special locations and installations
  • appendices
