The Hair and Beauty Championships 2012

This year's Hair Show, held at Plymouth Pavilions promises to be a championship event!
This spectacular show gives the City College Plymouth hair and beauty students a chance to showcase their hard work and skills. The choreographed evening will be watched by a team of top judges, who will be looking for talent and originality among the hundreds of hair styles on display.
Topping off the evening will be a demonstration from Craig Chapman, an award-winning local hairdresser, and a special performance by the Britain's Got Talent finalist, Michael Collings.
The evening is held is support of Chairs for Champions - a charity which was set up after a student of the college, Ben Clark, broke his neck in a freak accident whilst swimming at Sandbanks Beach in Dorset. Ben was a lifeguard with the potential to swim in the 2012 Olympic Games, but after diving into a wave, his life changed forever. Whilst under the water, Ben hit his head on a rock and shattered and fractured several vertebrae.
Ben had life-saving surgery which included bone being taken from his hip to repair his spine. Several months on, and after being told that he would never walk again, Ben has made phenomenal progress and has defied doctors predictions. Ben has kept this determination to succeed alive and has now set his sights on competing in the Paralympic Games 2012.
£1 from the sale of each ticket will be donated to the Chairs for Champions charity to support Ben on his journey to the Paralympic Games!
Doors open 6.30pm, show commences at 7.00pm.
