Low-carbon Courses

Some of the greatest challenges faced by governments and businesses today are concerned with energy. It is now widely accepted that there needs to be a shift in the way we think about this valuable resource, both where it comes from and how we use it.

The rapid depletion of the world’s fossil fuels means that there is a growing need for effective ‘low-carbon’ technologies. This presents a fantastic opportunity for businesses and individuals who have expertise in this field.

In recognition of the increased demand for these ‘green energy’ skills, the College is offering a range of high-quality, low-carbon courses. Created in partnership with industry leaders, these courses are designed to provide students with cutting-edge expertise in sustainable and renewable technologies.

Courses include:

• Installation of Solar Thermal Systems
• Installation of Small Scale Solar PV Systems

The ABB Energy Centre

The ABB Energy Centre is a facility unique to City College Plymouth, and is the base from which all our low-carbon courses are provided. The newly refurbished centre sets new standards in the teaching and training of the use of low-carbon innovations and products.
