Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
City College Plymouth is running its popular, FREE 'English with IT' course at various community venues around the city.
The 15-week course will be held on Tuesdays from 12.45pm at Chaddlewood Farm Community Centre, and on Thursdays from 9.30am at Radford Family Centre in Plymstock.
'English with IT' aims to develop learners' English and basic IT skills. The course is also designed to develop confidence and to teach skills that could be used within the workplace. Students are able to work at their own pace and are set practical learning tasks that are designed to develop their English and knowledge of basic word processing skills to produce documents with text and images.
During the course, learners work towards an entry or level 1 or 2 City & Guilds qualification in English and, afterwards, they can progress to further study at the College if they wish.
Pauline Vine, programme area manager at the College, says: "This course is ideal for those people who would like to improve their English and have little or no experience with computers. Sessions are relaxed and friendly, and learners work both with the whole group, as well as spending time working towards their own goals."
For more information about the course content and other dates available, call the College on 01752 301301, Chaddlewood on 01752 346123, or Radford on 01752 406680. Both venues are offering taster sessions, so give them a call to find out more.
