City College Plymouth’s new bartending course is now open for business!

City College Plymouth is leading the way in the hospitality industry by offering a new qualification for bartenders. The College is the first and only place in the country to offer a professional bartending (cocktails) qualification, a nationally recognised and accredited qualification.

The course is delivered in 'The Cocktail Academy' at Plymouth Gin in the heart of Plymouth and offers all the skills needed for the ultimate professional bartender. Free pouring, cocktail making techniques and bar preparation and service are just a few of the elements on offer.

Rosie Bates, head of academy for hospitality at the College, said: "We're really pleased to be able to offer this new and exciting course. It's a unique opportunity for bar staff to learn the essentials of professional bartending and serving the perfect drink.

"Not only can the course help to improve quality and customer service, it can also contribute to improving bottom line profit."

The College is offering its first course on Monday 30 March for £175, half of the normal price for a 60 hour course. Students will receive a City & Guilds level 2 professional bartending certificate on successful completion.
