Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
As a result of undertaking work experience at The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, skills development students at City College Plymouth have adopted a donkey.
The students, who have a wide range of learning disabilities and physical difficulties, have been spending two mornings a month helping with barn and yard maintenance.
Heather Barriball of City College Plymouth commented: "It's been a great experience for the students. They've had to work as a team, listen to and act on instructions and be aware of health and safety issues, all of which has led to overall growth in their confidence and sense of responsibility.
"The students have now raised enough money to adopt a donkey, as way of thanking the Trust for the opportunity of real work experience."
