Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
Prince's Trust students at City College Plymouth have bridged a gap between young and old by taking residents from Ashleigh Manor Residential Home to Paignton Zoo for the day.
As part of their 12-week personal development programme the team had to complete a final challenge, which involved working with people in the community. The team chose to work with senior citizens from Ashleigh Manor.
Debra Jory, Prince's Trust Team Leader at City College Plymouth commented: "This challenge represents the culmination of all the teams' hard work and commitment over the last ten weeks. Raising money for this event has required a great deal of confidence, determination and careful planning, which will stand them in good stead for the future.
"Seeing all areas of the community working together is wonderful."
The Prince's Trust programme is a 12-week personal development course, which helps people between the ages of 16 and 25 to improve their confidence, communication and team building skills. The course is run through City College Plymouth and teams run throughout the year. This year the Plymouth branch of the Prince's Trust is celebrating running their 150th team.
