City College Plymouth A Level Results - College reports pass rate increase of 10%

City College Plymouth announced today that its combined A level and AS level pass rate for full-time 16-18 year old students had increased by 10% in comparison with last year.

The overall pass rate for all A level students was 96% and for AS level students was 78%; an increase of 8% on last year, increasing the already high pass rate achieved by the College over the past few years.

Nearly 60% of A level students achieved grades from A-C; an increase of over 4% compared with the previous year.

For the first time in over ten years at the College, male 16-18 year olds out-performed females with their A level pass rate. Additionally, male students received a 10% higher A grade pass rate.

Phil Davies, Deputy Principal at City College Plymouth commented: "I would like to congratulate our students on achieving such fantastic results.

"Year-on-year we have seen an increase in the number of students achieving a high pass rates, making us not just Plymouth's largest A level provider but one of the City's main deliverers of high quality academic qualifications."

City College Plymouth is the largest A level provider in the city, with nearly 80% of its A level subjects achieving a 100% pass rate.

City College Plymouth is running an exams hotline from Thursday 20 August on 01752 305803.

Impartial advice and guidance will be available from the College's Student Services team from 8.30am to 5.00pm on weekdays, with an answer phone service available at weekends.

The team is also holding information, advice and guidance enrolment sessions at its Kings Road site centre on Friday 21 August and Friday 28 August between 10.00am and 2.00pm, and Thursday 3 September and Tuesday 8 September between 3.00pm and 7.00pm.
