City College Plymouth and Plymouth University are celebrating the outstanding achievement of 24 international students who have been awarded Plymouth University first class honours degrees.
23 Chinese students completed their first year at the China Agricultural University in Beijing, before moving to Plymouth to complete their second year at City College Plymouth. The University awarded the students with foundation degrees in Accounting and Finance before they completed their final year at Plymouth University to achieve BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.
A Russian student achieved a first class honours degree in Business Administration after progressing from the foundation degree course in Business at City College Plymouth.
Jessica Randall, International Manager at City College Plymouth commented: “We are ecstatic that so many of our international students have been awarded with the highest of accolades - a first class honours degree.
“It is testament to the effective relationship City College Plymouth has with Plymouth University in producing first class foundation degree students.”
Ge Wu, former foundation degree student said: “I am so grateful to the tutors at City College Plymouth who gave me such a wonderful year. I learnt so much useful knowledge of accounting and finance that gave me a great advantage in competing with the other students at Plymouth University.
“Although the job market is currently under the impact of financial crisis, I am confident that the knowledge and ability I gained at City College Plymouth and Plymouth University will enable me to get a job.”
Congratulating the students, Dr Colin Williams, Dean of Plymouth University Colleges Faculty commented: “the students’ outstanding success once again demonstrates the strength of the enduring partnership between City College Plymouth and the University.”
