Bristol Student Wins Award

Linda Hall from Bristol was presented with an award at City College Plymouth’s Awards Ceremony last night (Thursday 22 October), an annual ceremony about giving recognition to, and celebrating the success of its students.

Linda, 44 will collect the Higher Education Enterprise Award, sponsored by

Tamar Science Park, in recognition of her outstanding dedication and

determination studying as a part-time student on a Administrative Management, Foundation Degree whilst living in Bristol.

Linda’s ability to travel to Plymouth had been very limited because of her work and family commitments, and her course had to be completed through constant contact with tutors via e-mails and telephone tutorials. Despite this major setback, Linda completed her foundation degree achieving an overall distinction.

Chris Stafford, nominating tutor at City College Plymouth said: “Linda has been an excellent student, and her achievement speaks for itself. She continually demonstrated a degree of academic achievement and personal discipline, which is admirable.”

Linda received her award from guest of honour, Antony Jinman, Polar Explorer and former City College Plymouth student.
