Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
City College Plymouth has received its fourth ‘stamp of approval’ by the Investors in People assessors – the College first achieved the Standard in December 1997.
The College was praised for the development opportunities it provides for staff. It was also recognised that staff were proactive with their own development, with staff sourcing training and sharing their good practice learned.
Derek Johnson, the lead assessor for Investors in People, was particularly impressed with the involvement staff had with employers on both a local and national level.
There were also good examples given of where the College met the Standard with regards to equality and diversity, including some impressive training and awareness raising events.
Viv Gillespie, Principal at City College Plymouth said: “We are delighted that we have retained our Investor in People recognition. One of our main focuses is on staff training and development, and communication in particular. The Investor in People standard helps the College to achieve practical benefits in all areas of its work and is in line with its aims and objectives.”
