Plymouth Student Breaks European Powerlifting Record

City College Plymouth student Craig Cutler is celebrating after securing the Junior National Powerlifting Championship and breaking the European power lifting record.

Craig 19 is currently studying towards a foundation degree in strength conditioning and sport coaching at the College.

“It’s a really exciting time for me at the moment – this course is perfect for furthering my knowledge of different training techniques and methods,” said Cutler.

“Learning about the different techniques helps avoid back injury, which can be a major setback in any sport.

“My ambition is to eventually be the World’s Strongest Man.”

Charlie Legg, Course Co-ordinator at the College said: “As Craig’s understanding of sport science concepts and contemporary training methods expands it is inevitable, that it should lead to a better understanding and improvement in his own sport and training.

“To attract students of this calibre is extremely rewarding and a good indication of the quality of higher education provision within City College Plymouth.”
