Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
To celebrate City College Plymouth becoming a founder member of the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills and launching its Plymouth Institute of Production, Performance and Arts (PIPPA) – Jeff Wayne composer of The War of the Worlds, one of the most innovative and talked about recordings in the 1970s, brought his musical version to the College on Wednesday 5 May.
Performing arts students and pupils in Plymouth were invited to experience an educational and entertaining schedule of interviews and commentary about The War of the Worlds with Jeff Wayne in the College’s main hall, which was transformed into an atmospheric theatre.
Mark Trewin, Programme Area Manager for Performance Art at City College Plymouth said: “This has been a very exciting time for the College on very many levels.
“We’re extremely honoured to have such an iconic musician give a guest lecture to our students and performing art students around Plymouth
