Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
Business and finance diploma students at City College Plymouth have been presenting their business proposals to local employers - in the style of the television programme, Dragon’s Den.
The first year students were judged on their business enterprise, marketing and presenting skills by local employers from Enterprise Plymouth, the Tamar Science Park and Bluestone Creative.
The four teams of students presented their business proposals of Plymsnax - fairtrade and organic snack boxes provided to businesses on an honesty box policy, Click 2 Pull - retractable logoed head phones, Yum Yum, a College based sweet shop and SwiftSnax, also a snack box idea.
Alison Chapman, Business and Finance Lecturer at the College said: “This has provided real life business experience for the students and we are very grateful to all the employers who made it possible.
“The students will now take on board all of the employers’ feedback, make any amendments and actually run them as fully functioning businesses in their second year.
“Overall it’s a very exciting time for our students and I am confident that they will succeed - the initial feedback from employers has been very positive.”
