Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
City College Plymouth has hosted an event to celebrate the successes achieved by its students over the Summer term.
The Student(s) of the Term scheme was introduced in September 2008 to recognise and reward those students who are making a positive contribution to their course, the College or the local community. Each faculty has its own Student of the Term, and one of these is chosen by the Principal to be the ‘College Student of the Term,’ and one is chosen by the Students’ Union (SU) President to be the ‘SU Student of the Term.’
Jess Newman an AS level student, was nominated as the ‘Principal’s Student of the Term’ for having a mature and responsible attitude towards her studies and being a motivated and committed student at the College.
Aiden Truelove a construction student was nominated as the ‘SU Student of the Term’ for a making a positive commitment to every aspect of College life. Aiden has finished her course two weeks ahead of schedule and will now take part in the Leonardo Di Vinci European placement programme.
The event was attended by all 15 Summer ‘Student of the Term’ winners, plus their guests and nominating tutors, as well as heads of faculties. They were presented with a certificate and a high street voucher from Principal, Viv Gillespie, and received congratulations from Students’ Union President, Sergiu Filuta.
