College Information Evening for Parents/Carers

City College Plymouth is holding an information evening for parents/carers on Wednesday 27 June between 6.00pm and 8.00pm at its Kings Road Centre.

The evening will provide an excellent opportunity for parents to take a closer look at the range of courses on offer, find out about pastoral care, funding and student life, as well as an opportunity to tour the excellent industry-standard facilities.

The College offers a wide range of courses from A levels, with the largest A level sixth form provision in the city, to vocational courses that offer a real-life working environment. Information will also be available on opportunities to ‘earn while you learn’ through the Apprenticeship programme.

The College is keen to promote to parents/carers that it is the highest performing college in the South West, and 6th nationally, for the achievement of all our students (source: National Success Rate Tables 2010/11).

Presentations will take place at both 6.00pm and 7.00pm - giving an insight in to what can be expected from student life.

Marketing Officer, Kate Wells, said: The open evening not only gives parents a chance to get all of their questions answered, it also introduces them to the College and what we have to offer.

“It is also an opportunity for parents to discuss course funding - our Student Services team will be available to offer advice and support on available funding, to allay any fears parents or carers may have.”
