Annual Media Awards

City College Plymouth is to host its annual Media Awards - celebrating the hard work and talent of its outstanding students in areas such as film, design, photography, radio production and journalism.

Twelve awards will be presented to the students on Friday 29 June at the College’s Goschen campus in Keyham, in front of an audience of friends and family.

Rob Chadwick, College media lecturer said: “The Media Awards, now in its fifth year, is a fantastic way to award our best students at the end of a long year’s work. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase all of their work in front of an invited audience.”

The 70 nominated students are all studying level two and three media courses at the College. The courses prepare them to enter the world of work through the use of industry standard equipment and top quality training. The College has strong links with local media employers, including The Herald, the BBC, Heart FM, Twofour Productions and Radio Plymouth.

There will be an open day for media, production and creative industries courses on Thursday 5 July from 10.00am to 3.00pm at the College’s Goschen campus for anyone interested in the courses and the facilities on offer.

The media students are displaying their work from this year in an exhibition with laptops showing students' videos, as well as an extensive range of design and photography work. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and have a look. The exhibition will be running during the Media Awards.
