Students and staff at City College Plymouth are celebrating today after A level students collected their exam results.
For 16 to 18 year old full-time students sitting A levels at City College Plymouth there has been a 97% pass rate, maintaining the high pass rate achieved by the College over the past five years. Additionally, 11 of the A level subjects achieved a 100% pass rate, including chemistry, physics and psychology.
Impressively, there has also been a 4% increase in the number of 16 to 18 year old students achieving grades A-C in AS levels (the first year of A levels).
Principal at City College Plymouth, Phil Davies, said: “I would like to congratulate our A Level Academy students on achieving such fantastic results.
“Year-on -year we have seen an increase in the number of students achieving a high pass rates, making us not just Plymouth’s largest A level provider, but one of the City’s the most successful."
“The launch of our A Level Academy, now with an increased range of subjects all under one roof, has been instrumental in focussing our staff and students on high standards and raising aspirations.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the College staff for all their hard work in helping our students achieve these impressive pass rates.”
City College Plymouth is running an exams hotline from Thursday 16 August on 01752 305803.
Impartial advice and guidance will be available from the College’s Student Services team from 8.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays, with an answer phone service available at weekends.
The College is also holding information, advice and guidance enrolment sessions at Kings Road site on Friday 17 August (10.00am - 3.00pm) and Friday 24 August (10.00am and 1.00pm) for anyone who would prefer to speak to someone face-to-face.
