If there’s a skill you need to help improve your chances then our programme is ‘just the job’!

Improve your chance of getting back into the workplace by taking a look at what’s on offer and building your CV whilst waiting for a job.

Our programme of support will be tailored to meet your individual needs, offers the following courses:

  • First Aid at Work
    Three day course
    An intensive course for people that may need to administer first aid in the workplace.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
    One day course

    This course is ideal for the nominated emergency workplace first aider or any individual requiring a comprehensive one day first aid training course.

  • Health and Safety in the Workplace
    One day course

    This course will help you understand what is considered a potential risk and show you how to assess each type of risk so that you can help your employer ensure that health and safety at work is properly controlled.

  • Interpersonal Communication Skills
    One to two day course
    Covers the importance of active listening, non-verbal communication and appropriateness of language and tone.
  • Using ICT to Support Writing
    One to two day course
    Understand all the activities at work that use ICT, and learn how ICT can support writing CVs and job applications.
  • Money Management
    One to two day course
    Learn how to prioritise within a budget and identify the difference between essential and non-essential spending.
  • Confidence and Self Esteem
    One to two day course
    Understand the benefits of being confident and identify ways of building confidence and self-esteem.
  • CV Writing
    One to two day course
    Learn how to complete a CV by listing all your personal qualities, skills, qualifications, work experience and interests under appropriate headings.
  • Job Applications
    One to two day course
    Get tips on planning what to put in a letter of application for a job and
    how to complete a job application either online or paper-based.
  • Developing Assertiveness
    One to two day course
    Understand how to be assertive and outline the difference between ‘assertive’, ‘passive’ and ‘aggressive’.
  • Introduction to Using ICT Systems
    30 hour course
    Learn how to start-up and shut-down your ICT system, and load and close a software application. Also covers entering data, printing and using removable media, ie CDs, memory sticks etc).
  • Preparation for Work
    Two to three day course
    Investigate recorded career options, complete a simple CV, and learn how to present and conduct yourself appropriately in an interview situation.

24+ Advanced Learning Loans
New for September 2013!

If you’re aged 24 or older, you can apply for a loan to help cover tuition fees for an Access to Higher Education if it starts on or after 1 August 2013.

And what’s more … if you then progress to complete a higher education course, you won’t have to repay the remaining loan for the Access course!
