Providing education and training to Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall and the wider community
We want you to be able to make the most of your learning experiences at the College. If you are worried, or facing any sort of difficulties that are likely to reflect on your ability to learn, we can help with our caring, experienced team of staff who can provide individual support to help you cope during this time.
All part-time students will be allocated a personal tutor. Tutors will offer you regular meetings to discuss your progress and/or any difficulties faced, and discuss with you the best way to deal with them.
You can be sure that when you speak to us about any personal matters we will give you the best impartial information, advice and guidance. In fact, we have won the Investors in Careers award and the MATRIX standard award for the quality of our services.

One of our firm beliefs is that everyone should be treated fairly - this means that we will make all kinds of reasonable adjustments to how you go about learning so that no student is disadvantaged, whatever their particular need.
We have a dedicated Learning Support team to help. They will talk to you and liaise with your tutors to tailor support programmes for you. This might include in-class or out-of-class support with English, maths and study skills.
We help students with any disability or learning difficulty they may have including physical disabilities, mental health problems and sensory impairments such as visual or hearing difficulties.
If you have dyslexia or other learning difficulties, we have specialist support to help you. Once assessed, you can be supplied with someone to do your reading or writing for you, or we have all kinds of helpful equipment which can make your particular difficulty easier to work with.
The College is well served with facilities such as ramps, lifts and specialist toilets and we have dedicated, accessible parking and wheelchair access where appropriate.
Our Learning Support team is always keen to talk to any student thinking of coming to City College Plymouth. You are very welcome to come and visit the College before you apply for a course so that you can meet staff and take a look at our facilities.
We want to help you succeed, but you will need to tell us what help you need. The College’s Accessibility Commitment sets out the entitlement of students with a disability at the College.
DisabledGo is an award-winning disability organisation providing free detailed access information to locations and venues for disabled people across the UK and Ireland.
