Free Level 3 courses

In April 2021, the Government announced its Level 3 Free Courses for Jobs initiative, which meant adults of any age could choose from a selection of level 3 courses to study for free providing they didn’t already hold a qualification at this level or above. Under previous rules, adults aged 24 and over, or those aged 19-23 who had already gained a level 3 qualification or above (equivalent to three A Levels), would have to pay to do another level 3 course either themselves or using an Advanced Learner Loan.

The scheme, which now includes an even larger number of courses, has been opened up to those who already have a level 3 qualification if they are unemployed or earning less than the National Living Wage (£18,525 per year). The courses that are included in the Level 3 Free Courses for Jobs scheme will help people find employment or move into better-paid work whilst also meeting a national skills shortage. Funding is available for both one- and two-year courses.

See the dropdowns below to see what courses you could study for free.
