Students Honoured at Annual College Awards
15 December 2016 | College News
City College has been celebrating its students’ successes during the autumn term at an awards ceremony.
The Student of the Term scheme recognises and celebrates students who go ‘above and beyond’ to make a positive contribution to their course, the College or the local community. There is an overall winner for each of the College’s curriculum areas, and these were all put forward for three further, special awards: the Principal’s Award, the Governors’ Award and the Students’ Union Award.
Phil Davies, Principal and Chief Executive of City College, said: “The Student of the Term celebrations are one of the highlights of the College’s year. The remarkable achievements of our students really do make all of the team here so proud and their accomplishments reflect so well on the City. One of the College’s key aims is to support our students to achieve their dreams – and that includes students of all ages, regardless of their background.
“It is therefore a real honour to celebrate the outstanding qualities and achievements of our students with an evening dedicated to them, sharing their successes with their families and friends, lecturers and employers.”
The celebration was attended by each of the 15 winners and held in PL1, the College’s popular training restaurant, with a special menu prepared and served by hospitality and catering students.
For those interested in joining the College, the College is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 29 April, 10.00am to 1.00pm, at Kings Road. To find out more, please visit our events page or call 01752 305300.
