City businesses were offered the chance to debate the quality and value of local media’s business coverage at City College’s Business Supper Club.

On Thursday 9 June, businesses came together to debate the topic of ‘Local Media: Reporting for Business!’ with special guest speakers, Paul Burton, Editor of The Herald and Bill Martin, Editor-in-Chief for Devon and Cornwall.

Pauline Hands, Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations at City College said: “The College were delighted to welcome Herald Editor, Paul Burton, and Bill Martin, Editor-in-Chief for Devon and Cornwall to share their views on the work that local media undertake to support the business community and promote economic growth. Their insights into how businesses can better engage with local media and use it as a vehicle to promote their organisation were of particular interest to businesses in the City looking to raise their profile in both the local and regional press.”

Controversial debate and honest opinions are the name of the game at City College Plymouth’s Business Supper Club, run in partnership with The Herald. The only event of its kind in Plymouth, it enables business professionals to debate key topics that matter to the South West.
