City College Central Launch

25 May 2017 | College News, Student Life

City College is excited to be launching its brand new pop-up shop, City College Central, this Saturday. Located in the former Mr Bun’s premises on New George Street, the shop will be a hub for local people to get information, advice and guidance on the wide range of courses the College has on offer. The shop will also be running a schedule of activities for visitors to get involved with.

“City College Central will be the one-stop-shop for anyone thinking about their career options,” said Jo Williams, Marketing Officer. “Whether you are a prospective student looking to talk to a Careers Advisor or one of our Apprenticeship team, a parent with a quick question during a lunch break, or someone who’s interested in coming in and trying a new activity with your family, there is so much on offer!

“We will be running construction tasters and a live renovation project, a motorbike maintenance workshop and finger printing, displaying student projects and offering the chance for visitors to receive a sports massage or indulge in beauty treatments. We’ve also teamed up with Radio Plymouth to run a pop-up news booth for anyone who fancies having a go at presenting. Saturday’s launch will be fun for all the family with free giveaways courtesy of the Herald, face painting, cupcakes from Mrs Brown’s and even a guest appearance from our very own Captain College!”

City College Central will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm Tuesday to Saturday from 27 May to 17 June. To view the full range of activities visit
