Charlie Louise Harris

Charlie Louise has found success as a performing artist alongside her BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Music Creation and Performance at City College Plymouth.

Charlie studied for her GCSEs at Devonport High School for Girls and chose to continue her education at City College because the BTEC course gave her the opportunity to focus on music full-time, develop her composition skills and collaborate with like-minded people.

She says: “the lecturers are flexible in their approach to teaching and give us the freedom to focus on particular aspects of the course and develop as individuals. They understand the direction I want to take my music, which is incredibly important as everyone is different.”

Charlie is now forging a successful music career, having played at Boardmasters, Port Eliot Festival and Looe Saves the Day, and has supported Wildwood Kin and Haunt the Woods at Plymouth Pavilions. She has also recorded her Demo EP at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Charlie says: “After College I want to continue gigging around the South West circuit but also expand and go further afield. If you are considering studying the Music course at the College, come along to an open day and apply because it is so worth it!”
