Sam Harvey

“Before coming to the College I worked in a variety of care settings, specialising in people with learning difficulties/disabilities. This stood me in good stead for my transition here into a learning support role.

“I actually studied a NVQ Level 3 in Care here at the College as the course has a great reputation. This provision was perfect for me as I could continue to work full-time and be assessed in the workplace. The assessor was really helpful and met with me on a regular basis to ensure I was keeping up with the demands of the course.

“I was looking for a new challenge and more sociable working hours so when this post was advertised I jumped at the chance.

“Getting to watch your students grow is so rewarding, I am always so proud of their progress and happy to be a part of their journey. It is great to be able to make an impact on someone’s life.

“Creating an environment that is positive and will enrich students learning is really important to me so I am keen to progress into a management role. The College is great for offering training or allowing us to train externally to prepare us for future career prospects. I have developed industry specific skills which have given me a transferrable skill set which will be applicable and attractive to a broad range of industries and organisations.”
