Is your goal to become a massage therapist or complementary therpist working in a salon, spa or running your own business? This City & Guilds theory qualification is the perfect starting point and will equip you with the knowledge required to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies. The short, 15 week course includes the foundation of anatomy and physiology needed to understand all the systems of the body and their pathologies.
The course is made up of one core mandatory unit which focuses on the anatomy of the full body, including chemical organisation, cell structure, tissue types, body systems and their pathologies.
You should have GCSEs in English and maths at grade C (4/5) or above. A science or biology qualification at level 2 (GCSE) or above is beneficial, but not essential.
You will be assessed by an online examination.
Upon successful completion you may be able to progress to a level 3 programme, such as the Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies, the Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage or the Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
