About the course

Do you want a job as a beauty therapist, to travel the world as a beautician or run your own beauty salon? Beauty therapy Apprenticeships at City College Plymouth are a fantastic way to make your mark and start working in the health and beauty industry straight away. You’ll start a job as a trainee in a local salon and attend the College to complete your training, whilst earning a weekly training allowance. The beauty industry has remained recession-proof, as TOWIE wannabes ensure their fake tans are a suitable shade and an increasingly obese society tries to shift the pounds. Fake eyelashes, styled hair, immaculate make-up, these all take professional help … and you can really benefit from this undying trend by starting an Apprenticeship. You’ll receive training and assessment in providing facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, make-up and eye treatments and we’ll introduce you to the anatomy and physiology related to each treatment. We’ll also teach you about health and safety in the workplace, employment skills and reception duties. The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy is equivalent to five GCSEs. The Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy is equivalent to three A Levels and is the perfect choice for those who have successfully completed a level 2 beauty qualification and are already working in the industry.
