This is a top-up course for those who have already completed an appropriate level 5 qualification in the civil engineering sector and are looking to further their studies. The course has been designed to enhance your existing knowledge and understanding of leadership, enterprise, structural engineering, professional development and project management. Thanks to the College’s close links with businesses in the industry, you’ll also have the opportunity to work with local and national employers within the civil engineering sector.

This course includes the following subjects:

  • professional development in the contemporary sector
  • structural engineering
  • individual project. 

Acceptance onto this course is approved for those who have already completed the FdSc Civil Engineering Foundation Degree at City College or the FdSc Civil and Coastal Engineering Foundation Degree at South Devon College.

Should the entry requirements not be met than individual cases will be considered.

Assessment will be through a mixture of coursework, exams, practical work and research projects.

On successful compeltion you may be able to progress to:

  • level 7 study with other training providers
  • accreditation with recognised professional bodies.
