This Level 3 Diploma in Uniformed, Community and Public Services will give you in-depth knowledge into the wide range of opportunities available in the public services. You will explore and develop your understanding of the key areas connected with relevant public services designed to take you on the path to a successful career.

Course information

This course will cover the following units:

  • government, policies and the uniformed public services
  • leadership and teamwork
  • citizenship, diversity and the public services
  • crime and its effects on society
  • police powers
  • behaviour in public sector employment
  • responding to emergency service incidents
  • aspects of the legal system and law-making process
  • security procedures in the public services.

This course requires four GCSEs at grade 4 and above (including English and maths) or a relevant level 2 qualification.

Assessment will be via a combination of internal assignments and two external written exams.

On successful completion of this course, you could go onto to study the FdSc in Community and Public Services at the College.
