This is a mandatory qualification to enable engineers to install, service and maintain gas catering appliances. In order to be Gas Safe Registered, you must undertake this qualification every five years.
The course covers all gas safety issues regarding gas catering equipment in a catering environment. Ventilation, testing for tightness, installation, unsafe situations, purging, environment testing, ambient air testing and methods of extraction will also be covered.
Applicants must already hold a relevant qualification in gas or engineering; core gas qualification in catering – CODC1 or CCCN1.
Both theoretical and practical tasks are required although both are open book tasks.
This qualification ensures continuous employment and may expand job opportunities within the gas field.
